HBS Alumni Angels of Greater New York
Who are the HBS Alumni Angels of Greater New York?
We are comprised of Harvard alumni who invest in early-stage private companies on an individual basis. We are open to all Harvard alumni and others affiliated with the University, not just Harvard Business School (HBS) graduates. We recently launched the Venture Capital Access Program (“VCAP©”), a collaborative venture that provides women and diverse entrepreneurs nationwide with access to venture capital through accredited investors within the HBS Alumni Angels of Greater New York (HBSAANY) network, in partnership with the National Association of Investment Companies.

Submit a Business Plan
If you are interested in submitting a business plan for funding by the
HBSAANY, please visit our Gust website.
We invest in companies regardless of whether any of the owners or management
are Harvard alumni.
If you are an HBSAANY member and an existing investor in a company you would like to submit for consideration, please review our Fast Track criteria here. Fast Track applicants may be eligible to move through our screening process at an accelerated pace given that due diligence has already been completed by a member.
Our Screening Process
We invite companies from all sectors to submit their business plans for funding. Our geographic focus includes, but is not limited to, the Greater New York area (Connecticut, New Jersey, and Philadelphia). The steps in the application process are:
- Submit an application through our Gust website.
- Screening Committee sector lead conducts a preliminary screening.
- Companies that make it through the preliminary screening make a formal presentation to the full Screening Committee during a Screening Night. Screening Nights are held monthly.
- Companies that make it through the Screening Night present to the HBSAANY membership at a Pitch Night. Pitch Nights are held quarterly.
